PRIVACY NOTICE ON THE USE OF PERSONAL DATA

Introduction

This privacy notice aims to give you information on how Preply, Inc. and Preply Europe Services, S.L. (“we”, “us”, “our”, the “Company”) will collect and process the following categories of personal data about an external participant (“you”, the “External Participant”) of the online event/webinar (the “Tutor Conference”):

● your first name, last name, email address, subject you teach (collectively, the “Related Personal Data”).

This privacy notice only relates to how the Company will process the Related Personal Data. It is important that you read this privacy notice together with any other privacy notice we may provide on specific occasions when we are collecting or processing personal data about you.

This privacy notice supplements the other notices and is not intended to override them. How will we use the Related Personal Data?

The Related Personal Data of the External Participant will be used for registration of the External Participant, to organize the Tutor Conference, record attendance of the Tutor Conference, provide you with customer support services and technical assistance and send marketing emails or texts to you using your Related Personal Data in line with the soft-in approach 1. The processing activities imply collection, recording, organization, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or otherwise making available, alignment or combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction of the Related Personal Data.

What is the legal basis Preply relies on?

We will only use your Related Personal Data when the law allows us to. We process the Related Personal Data for the services-related purposes because such processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party (GDPR Art. 6.1.b). Without this information, it will be impossible to perform the agreement between you and the Company. Also, we process the Related Personal Data for sending marketing emails or texts to you on the basis of our legitimate interests to promote the Company’s platform and your legitimate interests to learn more about the services provided by the Company(GDPR Art. 6.1.f).

How long do we store the Related Personal Data?

The Related Personal Data will be processed and retained for 1 (one) year after the Tutor Conference.
